These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of YellowMiso, a facial authentication application for macOS.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using YellowMiso, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use YellowMiso.
YellowMiso provides facial recognition and liveness-detection functionality designed to authenticate an enrolled user on a Mac.
YellowMiso is not Apple's Face ID and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc.
YellowMiso does not replace macOS account authentication, your Mac login password, FileVault, Touch ID, or other operating-system security mechanisms unless explicitly stated otherwise.
You may use YellowMiso only if your use is permitted under applicable laws and regulations.
If applicable law requires parental or guardian consent for your use of the service, that consent must be obtained before using YellowMiso.
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use YellowMiso for lawful purposes.
This permission does not transfer ownership of YellowMiso or its underlying software, branding, designs, or other intellectual property.
You must not use YellowMiso to:
Facial recognition and liveness-detection systems are not perfect.
YellowMiso may incorrectly reject an authorized user or incorrectly accept an unauthorized person.
Factors such as lighting, camera quality, appearance changes, positioning, obstructions, software errors, model limitations, or attempted spoofing may affect performance.
You should maintain another secure method of accessing important information where appropriate.
YellowMiso is designed to improve authentication security, but we do not guarantee that YellowMiso cannot be bypassed, compromised, exploited, or otherwise defeated.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Mac, operating system, passwords, recovery methods, and other authentication mechanisms.
Do not rely on YellowMiso as the sole protection for information where failure could cause serious financial, physical, legal, or other significant harm.
Your use of YellowMiso may involve processing facial information for authentication and liveness detection.
Our handling of this information is described in the YellowMiso Privacy Policy.
You must not enroll another person's face without that person's knowledge and any consent required by applicable law.
YellowMiso, including its original software, user interface, graphics, branding, documentation, and other original materials, may be protected by intellectual-property laws.
Third-party frameworks, libraries, models, or other components remain subject to their respective licenses.
YellowMiso may contain or rely upon third-party software, machine-learning models, operating-system frameworks, or other components. See the credits and licenses in the project's THIRD_PARTY.md file for what those are.
Those components may have separate licenses, restrictions, and terms.
Nothing in these Terms grants rights to third-party technology beyond those granted by its respective owner or license.
YellowMiso may be updated, modified, suspended, or discontinued.
Features may be added, changed, or removed as development continues.
We may also update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date or by providing another appropriate notice.
YellowMiso may include experimental or early-stage technology.
Features may contain bugs, produce incorrect results, stop functioning, or change substantially between versions.
You are responsible for deciding whether YellowMiso is appropriate for your intended use.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, YellowMiso is provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee that YellowMiso will always be available, error-free, secure, accurate, compatible with every Mac, or capable of preventing every unauthorized access attempt.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, YellowMiso and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from the use of or inability to use YellowMiso.
This includes, where legally permitted, loss of data, unauthorized access, device problems, loss of access, or other damages resulting from authentication failures.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.
You may stop using YellowMiso at any time.
Your permission to use YellowMiso may terminate if you materially violate these Terms.
Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination may remain in effect.
Your use of YellowMiso is also governed by the YellowMiso Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how facial information and other information are processed and protected.
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Mandatory consumer-protection, privacy, and other statutory rights that apply to you remain unaffected.
